Autoclave
A device for sterilizing surgical instruments at a high temperature with high steam pressure for specified time. Each autoclave cycle will reach a certain temperature and pressure and hold that for a required length of time.
Internal Diameter
In relation to body jewelry the internal diameter of a ring or circular barbell is the distance from the internal surfaces of the ring at opposite sides of the ring. The internal diameter of a curved barbell is the distance between the balls of the barbell measured in a straight line. Please see our sizing chart for examples.
Internal Threading
Internal threading is required by the APP as the only acceptable threading for body jewelry. Internally threaded jewelry does not damage the piercing when inserted or removed, because the jewelry has no exposed threads.

Sterile
Free from live bacteria or other microorganisms. In piercing all equipment and jewelry must be sterile to reduce the risk of infection.
